Polarity reversed during charging
Due to the different materials of the positive and negative plates of the battery, in addition to active substances, materials such as barium sulfate, humic acid, carbon black, and rosin are also added to the negative plate to prevent shrinkage and oxidation. In addition, the number of negative plates in each single cell battery is always one more than the number of positive plates, and the negative plate is slightly thinner than the positive plate. When conducting initial or supplementary charging of a battery, if the polarity is not paid attention to, it will cause the battery to charge backwards, resulting in almost all positive and negative electrodes becoming coarse-grained PbSO4, causing insufficient charge capacity of the battery, inability to function properly, and even leading to battery scrap. Therefore, when charging, it is important to pay attention to polarity and never reverse polarity charging
首先将电池正极接电源正极,电池负极接电源负极。
然后初充电分两个阶段进行:首先用初充电电流充到电解液放出气泡,单格电压升到2.3~2.4V为止。然后将电流降为1/2初充电电流,继续充到电解液放出剧烈的气泡,电压连续3h稳定不变为止。全部充电时间约为45~65h。
充电过程中应常测量电解液温度用电流减半、停止充电或冷却的方法,将温度控制在35~40℃,初充电完毕时,若电解液比重不合规定,应用蒸馏水或比重为1.4的电解液进行调整。调整后再充电2h,直至比重符合规定时为止。
