无卤低烟阻燃电缆的特点是不仅拥有良好的阻燃性能，构成低烟无卤电缆材料的不含卤素，燃烧时的腐蚀性和毒性较低，产生极少量的烟雾，从而减少了对人身、仪器、设备的损害，有利于发生火灾时及时救援，有良好阻燃性、耐腐独性、极少烟雾浓度等，但其在机械性及电气性能比普通电缆稍差。
