SCALANCE M can be used universally in telecontrol, teleservice, and any other application for industrial remote communication. The connection to remote networks is made via public communications infrastructures such as DSL and mobile radio. The components are optimized for industrial use and integrated into the TIA environment. Thanks to the integrated encryption and access protection mechanisms, the devices make a decisive contribution to the security of data communications. Groundbreaking security concepts (firewall, VPN) for the use of public and, in some cases, open infrastructures, such as the internet, protect the communications systems against unauthorized access from outside. To achieve a high level of process availability, the transmission networks can be designed as a redundant configuration.
