Pom is a kind of linear polymer with no side chain, high density and high crystallinity, which has excellent comprehensive properties. The tensile strength of pom can reach 70MPA, it can be used for a long time at 104 °c, the embrittlement temperature is-40 °c, the water absorption is small. But the thermal stability of pom is poor, weather resistance is poor, long-term exposure in the atmosphere will aging. The mechanical properties of pom are very good, it has high strength modulus of Elasticity, small friction coefficient and good wear resistance. Pom also has a high degree of resistance to creep and stress relaxation. POM has good dimensional stability and low water absorption, so the influence of water absorption on its mechanical properties can not be considered. Pom has good dielectric properties, and its dielectric constant and dielectric loss angle have little change in a wide range of frequency and temperature. The heat resistance of pom is poor, and it is easy to degrade the product at the molding temperature. Generally, the stabilizer is added during granulation. If not stressed, pom can be used at 140 °C for a short time and at 85 °C for a long time. The weather resistance of pom is poor, and the general properties of POM decrease after aging in atmosphere. But its chemical stability is very good, especially for organic solvents, its size change and mechanical properties are reduced very little. But the strong acid and strong oxidant such as nitric acid, sulfuric acid corrosion resistance is very poor. Polyformaldehyde has a tensile strength of 70 MPA, small water absorption, size stability and luster, these properties are better than nylon, polyformaldehyde is a highly crystalline resin, in the thermoplastic resin is the strongest. With heat resistance, bending strength, fatigue strength are high, wear resistance and excellent electrical properties. POM has a low coefficient of friction and good geometric stability, especially suitable for making gears and bearings. Due to its high temperature resistance, it is also used in pipe devices (pipe valves, pump housings) , lawn equipment, etc. .
